GOOD MORNING, Tuscany! Il Borghetto (where we are staying) is surrounded by breathtaking beauty!
We are smack dab in the middle of Tuscany’s vineyards! John and I walked around the grounds yesterday morning to soak it all up! It is truly a magical place!
We are surrounded by olive trees, vineyards, and limone trees! We were told that the olive trees are not doing well this year due to really dry conditions. But they are beautiful none-the-less!
Last night sitting at dinner, John suddenly held his foot and said, “Yikes, it feels like I sprained my ankle!”
(Who, pray tell, sprains their ankle sitting at a table?) Well, guess what? Yup, this morning it was no better! So we all agreed to take a much needed DAY OFF while he iced his ankle! The only thing we can figure is that he strained it while changing gears a million and a half times through all the twists and turns of mountain driving!
We made our first brunch inside our apartment! A home cooked meal tasted good (even though we didn’t have salt and pepper!).
We spent the day relaxing poolside and, man, did it ever feel good! Patte was the only brave one to get into that chilly pool!
The folks at Il Borghetto host a dinner twice every week. We reserved a table for tonight’s dinner. Because of COVID, dinner was to be served outside….
The dinner was AMAZING! The setting was GORGEOUS! It was truly a five star, four course dinner! Oh, and we were called the “Happy Table!”
