Rome was certainly hopping last night—just ask John! Seriously, our bedroom windows are right above a street full of lovely restaurants and those restaurants were FULL of partying Italians last night! I slept right through the noise, however, John was up listening (and living vicariously through them, no doubt!). We hit the streets early and purchased tickets for the I LOVE ROMA bus tour!
We picked up the bus and off we went to explore the city!
COVID testing and COVID vaccinations are alive and well in Rome!
Today, we took in 1. The Spanish Steps,
2. The Church of The Holy Trinity (built in 1502), and
3. The Trevi Fountain!
Mike and John enjoyed lunch while Patte and I enjoyed the bustling street scene!
We walked around the 4. Roman Forum and the gorgeous 5. Piazza Venezia!
To say we had a difficult time finding the I LOVE ROMA bus stop near the Piazza Venezia is an understatement! But we FINALLY figured it out, rode it to the end of our street, and found a delightful cafe to enjoy a nice, relaxing meal! It actually began sprinkling, so we quickly moved inside!
Our waitress brought some dessert biscuits and John and Mike grabbed two Grappas! It was the perfect ending to our first day in Roma!
