We packed up this morning and we’re going to head right to Florence. Because our check-in time was not until 4:00PM, John came up with the great idea to head to Pisa and LUCCA first! We all agreed! We arrived in Pisa just in time for Patte and Mike to help her from falling over! Whew, that was close!
We continued our support for the ‘ol girl (that would be The Leaning Tower of Pisa) throughout a wonderful lunch!
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal and, yes, John had yet another Calzone! (It was bigger than his head!)
We departed Pisa…
…and headed to Lucca, a walled Italian city!
The Bell Tower there was beautiful - oops, forgot to take a picture of the real thing!
Here is St. Martin’s Cathedral!

There wasn’t a whole lot to see in Lucca, but we enjoyed a drink at a quaint cafe and watched the people walking by!
We made it to Florence and checked into another ADORABLE Airbnb! John researched some local restaurants and we decided to go with La Buchetta, which was highly recommended by our friend, Shawn! It was only a twenty minute walk for us along the Arno River!

Our table was outside in an alley by the street and was just PERFECT! I don’t think I’ve mentioned how PERFECT our weather has been so far! We really could not ask for better temps!

The meal was divine! And the wine was diviner! Now THAT should be word, DIVINER! Because it totally describes the wine that they paired with our food!!

John ordered the pasta that is tossed inside a wheel of Parmesan cheese and sprinkled with truffles! He loved every bite of it!
Mike had gnocchi and enjoyed every bite of it!
PATTE and I both had ravioli, and you guessed it, we LOVED every bite of it!
And then the Murry’s enjoyed their desserts!
We walked along the Arno River back to our Airbnb. Looking forward to seeing what Florence has to offer (besides naked statues) tomorrow!
And thanks, as always, for stopping by!
